Our March outreach stall was a great success despite the cold – although the sun did make a brief appearance in the afternoon. We set up on Gloucester Road at about 10:30am and had a constant flow of people coming to the stall throughout the day.
It was a little quieter on Gloucester Road than it has been on other occasions when we have taken the stall there, so we had a few less people coming up, but this worked really well as we were able to have some really good conversations with many of the people who came over.
One of the highlights was meeting a woman who is allergic to egg and was very excited to see our red pepper tofu quiche as has she had never tried quiche before in her life. She was also very happy to have a slice of banana cake as she seemed to have missed out on cake a bit too – she said her birthday cake had been a rice crispie cake. We sent her on her way loaded up with egg-free recipes!
